"Build more houses" that part wasn't done

The problem is that Landlords do not participate in the Housing Market. Landlords buy properties that short the supply of houses for sale. As a result the cost of purchasing a house goes up thanks to the short supply and increased demand. But the houses for Rent are available to live in, but do not apply to the sale of a house. They are not counted as available housing. Going off the cost of housing, Landlords justify their increase in rent. A market that their available rentals no longer participate in. It has little to do with currency in Canada right now, as this was the problem BEFORE inflation went out of control. Landlords short the housing market supply, and then increase their rents based on the increased purchase price of houses, while not having filled the rental space with people yet. The Rental and Housing markets either need to be properly combined, or formally separated.

The average rent in Calgary is $2000/month. 3 flights a week for 4 weeks as $100 per flight is $1200/month. That's $3200/month. The math isn't mathing.
